Bordon Inclosure SANG
Avon Construction worked with Hampshire County Council at Bordon in Hampshire to create a Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG). This has resulted in a safe and accessible local recreational space for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Within the wooded area there has been major thinning of the undergrowth and selected tree and non-native invasive plant removal to enable the creation of a network of paths with river crossings in the form of small bridges and pipes. The creation of play areas incorporating natural features, and a boardwalk has been installed over the marshy areas of the woodland to ease access and to protect the habitat of amphibians and reptiles including the rare Natterjack Toad.
There are also seating areas, information boards and nature trails incorporating various bespoke furniture and works by local artists and the re-introduction of native planting.
We returned to Bordon in June 2017 for the construction and installation of a skate park which further enhances the versatility and variety of uses of this green space (SANG) has adopted.
