Knapp Mill & Alderney

Avon Construction were working as a sub contractor for Clancy Docwra to deliver projects for Bournemouth Water.

At Knapp Mill we were contracted to design and construct a new UV plant water treatment works in Christchurch. Work involved the construction of a new reinforced concrete basement and erecting a steel frame complete with cladding.

At Alderney Works in Poole we were contracted to convert an existing reservoir to a new contact tank. Works involved the demolition of the existing filter bed partition wall and casting a new reinforced concrete partition wall within the contact tank. Access to the tank was limited therefore the logistics of how to cast the wall needed to be thoroughly pre-planned.
