Swanage SANG

Avon Construction were awarded the contract by Barratt Homes to construct the Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) for their 2019 housing development in Swanage. Split across 2 sites; the SANG provides an enjoyable recreation space for the home owners and public alike.

The scope of works involved regenerating 2 meadows to include over 1.5km of timber edged footpaths, 750m of mown grass footpaths, 1.3km of rabbit/dog proof fencing, tree, hedge & aquatic planting and the construction of a new attenuation pond linking to the development's storm drainage system.

There are also information boards, waste bins, benches and bespoke feature furniture installed sporadically around the SANG.

The work was undertaken in the spring on 2019 to co-inside with the launch of the development show homes.
