Hethfelton House – Access Track

Works are now complete at Hethfelton House for the construction of a1200m stone access track to the education centre at Monkey World. This contract was an addition to the works that were recently completed for the tarmac road construction off the A352 in the latter part of 2020.

The access track contract consisted of the installation of 1300m of stock proof fencing, site wide CBR testing, reduced dig to formation, installation of separation and ground reinforcement membranes, laying and compaction of capping and sub-base layers followed by the topping of a 40mm surface dressing.

Over 5000t of material was imported to site during the 12 week contract with all as-dug materials retained on site for landscape dressing.

Works were completed in the spring of 2021 ready for the relaxation of COVID restrictions.
