Willingdon Bridge

Avon Construction were awarded the contract for the design and construction of a 10m span concrete bridge for Barratt David Wilson Homes. The bridge would pass over a small stream of water connecting Barratt’s new housing estate to a yet to be built football field and pavilion.

The scope of works included the installation of concrete piles and piling cap foundation, pre cast MY2 beams, reinforced concrete bridge deck and upstands, co-ordination of crane lifts for pre-cast installation and boundary railings.

Works remaining include: completion of footpath concrete, and tarmac installation on both the walkway and carriageway.

Avon will return to complete these works once access roads are completed by others.
