Woodside Bridge Exmoor

Avon Construction have successfully installed a footbridge on the River Lyn in Exmouth, for Exmoor National Park. Avon Construction worked with CTS bridges on the access and installation of the bridge.

Due to the remote location of the bridge, Avon was required to design and build a temporary haul road adjacent to the River Lyn capable of taking the weight of the crane and the bridge delivery vehicle. Crane outrigger concrete foundations were cast into the sides of the river embankment.

Using some impressive driving skills, the haulage vehicle successfully manoeuvred the bridge to the location and a 45T crane was used to pick up the bridge and drop in place.
